We are very pleased to be able to offer online assessments for prosopagnosia and super recognition to many people living within the UK. We offer this service free of charge, although the speed with which we can respond to registrations does depend on current resourcing within the group, as well as the types of project that we are currently pursuing (e.g., whether we have funding for work with children).
If you take part in our online assessment programme and you reach the criteria for prosopagnosia or super recognition, we will invite you to join our research participant list. There is no obligation at all to agree to this, and many of our participants dip in and out of our studies according to their availability.
Much of our work relies upon the participation of people with face recognition difficulties, and we are always very grateful for any time that our participants and their families can give us. Many of our participants enjoy the participation process, and have been helping with our research for several years. We take pride in our relationships with our participants, and provide full debriefs following participation, and keep everyone updated with news about the findings of our research and their publication.
It is very important to us that our participants also benefit from the research process, and many people describe how participation has helped them to understand their face recognition difficulties, and how obtaining a “diagnosis” has been a huge relief to them.
